New Patients

Dr. Laura will take time with you. During your first appointment, she will take your health history, find out about your diet and stress levels, and discuss your concerns. She may perform an examination and order diagnostic tests. Dr. Laura keeps up-to-date on the latest scientific research and incorporates this evidence into their treatments. She will work with you to set up a customized health management strategy. If necessary, she will refer you to other health-care practitioners.

Your first visit will be one to 1.5 hours, and follow-up visits will range from 30 to 45 minutes. Dr. Laura needs sufficient time to ask questions and understand your health goals, gather information, do an appropriate examination and teach you about managing your condition and improving health. She may also use diagnostic tests to fully understand your health status. Besides taking the time to carefully and fully assess the root problem, Dr. Laura understands the language of conventional medicine. She cannot diagnose the way MDs do—yet she brings to the patient a whole new array of treatments and insights. Instead of waiting for a disease to emerge, she works to head it off before it happens.

Fees for Service

Please recognize that naturopathic medicine represents a different model of care. Most medical doctors see patients for a very short period of time and, therefore, must treat most cases in a relatively generic fashion. Naturopathic Doctors give a great deal of time and thought to each patient.

Initial Naturopathic Visit (1.5 hours) – $325

Initial Naturopathic Visit (1 hour) – $250

Follow-up Visit (45 min.) – $165

Follow-up Visit (30 min.) – $115
Acute Naturopathic Visit (15 minutes) – $60

A credit card is required to have on file to schedule your first appointment. Missed appointments without two business days’ notice will be charged a $40 fee.
All telephone consults of more than 5 minutes duration – $20

Insurance does not cover naturopathic medicine in New York State. The visit cost and recommended supplements can usually be paid for out of a Health Savings Account or Flex Spending Account, as I am a licensed practitioner. Please check your individual plan to see if it will cover naturopathic care.

Any recommended supplements or homeopathy are not included in the above fees. On average, recommended supplements will cost $125-$300 per month, depending on your health concern.

Payment Methods
We accept Cash, Checks (payable to Dr. Laura Sleggs, ND), and Credit and Debit cards. Payment for your appointment is required at the end of each visit. A $30.00 charge will be applied to all returned checks.

Cancellation Policy

Any missed appointments or appointments canceled less than 48 hours in advance will forfeit their deposit payment or will be charged $40 for an appointment and $20 for a 15-minute appointment. By confirming your appointment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these conditions. This will allow for consideration of other patients who would also like to schedule an appointment.

TeleHealth

Dr. Laura is available through in-person appointments as well as TeleHealth by phone, skype, or Facetime, which offers a convenient solution to patients and doctors through technology.

TeleHealth (also called Telemedicine) is becoming very popular in the digital age.

How it works

Using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, you are able to interact with your doctor using video for remote naturopathic suggestions. The platform allows photos to be easily shared and viewed throughout the appointment so that our remote patients are able to participate in active doctor-patient discussions just like an in office visit without the inconvenience of a trip to the office.

Scheduling an Appointment

You are able to schedule an appointment through our website and select a phone appointment instead of an in-person appointment. We will call you and decide which form of communication is best for you – phone, facetime, skype, or Charm TeleHealth. TeleHealth visits are just like office visits in terms of time, scheduling, cost, and care.
